Can a pair of boots really change a person? We like to think so. Boots that are made a certain way, with a special dedication to history, tradition, and high-quality materials – those kinds of boots can change a whole life.
Founded in 1889, Dixon Boot Company has been a household name within the cowboy boot industry for over 133 years. That’s because we craft with a unique level of care and design our boots to fully support our customers – both in their day-to-day lives and in their hard work. Inspired by the original cowboy way of life we’ve carved our own path within the industry and put a stake in the ground in how we want to create and operate.
And that stake is inspired by where we come from – the early cowboy era of the late 1800s. A time where the rugged frontier and man became opposing forces – long cattle drives, vast landscapes, thick and dangerous brush, rocky and hot environments. Cowboys of the late 1800s needed a reliable, sturdy, and supportive boot that could protect them from rough and tumble living. A boot that could change their lifestyle – for the better.
Both a preacher and a part-time bootmaker, Henry Dixon taught his sons, Andy and Noble the boot making craft, which they then brought to Wichita Falls, TX in 1945. There, they established themselves as expert craftsmen and cowboy bootmakers because they were able to do what others couldn’t: make a boot that could support a real Texas cowboy and the harsh climate of a working Texas ranch without losing its beautiful luster. With Dixon Boots, cowboys could have style and substance – no need to compromise or make a choice.
Under the supervision of Andy and Noble, Dixon Boot Company grew to be considered some of the finest cowboy boots in the country – known for their exceptional fit and style, as well as their artistry and attention to detail. Buyers marveled – how could such a beautiful boot withstand such rough terrain? How did it manage to make you feel tough and cared for, supported and strong – all at once?
From the championing of stars like Hank Williams Sr., Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline and the Nashville Country Music elite, Dixon Boot Company has become a brand of lasting legacy, one built around the rich and illustrious heritage of Texas and around the power of hard work.
Now based in Dallas, our vision for the future is the same as it was when Noble and Andy were running things: to offer our customers a stunning and high-quality cowboy boot that supports all walks of life.
From the bespoke leather curating and crafting process we use to the pride we take in our history and heritage–we are a brand that celebrates the lifestyle of the modern cowboy, the long road home. We celebrate neverending curiosity. Hustling for what you love. We believe in a dedication to family and growth. In the taste of a good beer at sunset. In the company of good friends. And we have deep love of Texas and taking on challenging tasks – even if just to witness ourselves accomplishing them.
At Dixon Boot Company, we know where we come from and what we believe in because it is stitched into our very being and into every boot we make.
